Healthcare Leader Robert Zed, CHE, Recognized as Lebanese Business Person of the Year in Nova Scotia

Robert Zed, entrepreneur, philanthropist and community leader, has been recognized as the 2019 Lebanese Business Person of the Year by the Lebanese Chamber of Commerce in Nova Scotia.

Robert is currently Chair and CEO of Triangle Strategies, a group of companies providing strategic advisory services to Fortune 500 companies in the healthcare and hospitality industries.

“My advice for success is pretty simple; the formula is hard work, having fun, and making sure to pay it forward,” said Robert.

A former hospital vice-president and board member for a variety of healthcare foundations and associations, his broad pan-Canadian perspective in healthcare is unmatched. His extensive experience in both strategy and operations has made him a trusted advisor across Canada, often called upon by senior leaders.

“Our award recipients are recognized for their contributions towards the betterment and prosperity of business in Nova Scotia. Robert is recognized for his integrity, creativity and dedication to his work. Our winners are not only role models in their field but also display passion for helping others,” said Norman Nahas, President, Lebanese Chamber of Commerce in Nova Scotia.

Along with the award, a new grant entitled, The Zed Family Entrepreneurship Grant for Emerging Leaders, has been established. The grant will sponsor one emerging leader per year to assist in the development of their existing business or to launch a new business. The prize will be administered through the Lebanese Chamber of Commerce.

Robert continues to inspire emerging leaders in other areas, including through coaching initiatives, the Executive in Residence role at Dalhousie University and teaching in the entrepreneurship program at Citadel High School. He is married to Dr. Joanna Zed and they have three sons.
